As a creative individual with a passion for practicing new media techniques my skills cross over a range of media practices. These include design, photography and adobe suite experience, with a main focus in web creation. I have experience in designing websites for businesses, campaigns, and various projects that take on different aims and purposes.

I hold a particular interest in how the internet is advancing, how it can be utilised interactively and communicate concepts for various reasons. The browser is becoming more fascinating than ever as a medium for artistic expression, like all artists it’s a blank canvas that can be crafted into a masterpiece of art/design. I enjoy exploring how we as a society have the ability to document concepts, display our views, and promote our virtual identities through the browser as a medium.

Types of Projects

I have worked on a variety of web based projects, each project has differed in purpose and style, most of the sites I have formed have displayed a variety of interactive multimedia material created by myself. Whether the nature of the website is for a business/individual as way promoting themselves to the public, or a campaigning site raising concerns for a specific topic I utilise the browser from a blank canvas and do my best to ensure it fits it’s purpose.

Techniques

I have a range of skills in media, and am able to create more than just the basic design elements needed for a site. I have a good understanding of Adobe software such as Photoshop, as well as strong photography skills both of which can be applied suitably to forming a creative site. Some projects require heavily informative text, displaying a journalistic language, my strengths lie not only in design but also the ability to apply well written English to the sites.

Busknet

A social media hub allowing buskers and members of the general public to see what artistic talent lies within London, promoting their unique music.

This was a team project where our interest was to provide Buskers with the recognition they deserve, playing on the streets is something that many individuals do for their love of performing and passion for music, it can however be disheartening from lack of appreciation. We felt that their audience deserved the opportunity to listen to their music elsewhere, as we realise it is not always easy when your rushing around and don't have the time to stop and listen.

This is where this site works to help you rediscover the musicians you missed. There is so much potential out there that can easily be lost or forgotten, we felt it was important to set up a place for communication and discovering talent.

Take Stock focuses on the topic of animal food production, touching on various public questions and concerns towards the meat and dairy industries, with particular interest into factors of health, ethics and climate change, these topics are touched on throughout the site providing a discovery.

The purpose of Take Stock is to provide factual information as well as uncovering individuals opinions and profiles of those who feel passionate about this topic. This short interactive documentary should help provide you with a clearer outlook on where our food comes from, and stimulate you to consider your own thoughts on the controversial issues of animal welfare, farming and our environment.
